should you really still be allowed to promote shows, after yr horrible mishandling of the ALL reunion last month? i mean, really. do you have yr shit together enough to make sure both bands get to play full sets, or will you fuck everything up again, and submit the audience to a terrible joke like "the casualties" for an hour? i think you’re in the wrong business.

the world seems to be conspiring to keep us from making it to chicago on sunday. our primary and backup sitters pulled out on us at the 10th and 11th hours, respectively. time/money are tighter than they've ever been, and if the walgreens pharmacist on duty at 1:30am is to be believed, i have a staph infection in my swellbow (i'm taking my uninsured ass to urgent care today to verify this).
assuming we make it, here's where i'm planning on being:
4:15-4:45 - horrorpops (MAIN STAGE) 4:45-5:05 - the methadones (SECOND STAGE) 5:10-6:25 - the mighty mighty bosstones (MAIN STAGE) 6:30-7:00 - the ergs! (SECOND STAGE) 7:00-7:15 - jay reatard (MAIN STAGE) 7:20-7:50 - big drill car (MAIN STAGE) 7:50-8:20 - teenage bottlerocket (SECOND STAGE) 8:20-8:30 - leftöver crack (MAIN STAGE) 8:40-9:10 - the casualties (MAIN STAGE) 9:25-10:25 - scottALL!! (MAIN STAGE)
how on earth they're running two concurrent stages at the fucking congress theater is beyond me, but at least ALL will be playing with nobody else to bleed over from the other stage.
if we make it, the sixteen year-old will be in tow, but the two month-old will not, as i've had trouble locating age-appropriate hearing protection (even these are too big to stay on his little noggin, i reckon). this kind of sucks, since i'd like him to be able to see his namesake (initialsake?) band perform at some point.
maybe i'll see some of youse guys there. i'll be the disgusting-looking old fat dude with a fucked up elbow.
Hey everybody! Scott Reynolds is gonna sing a show with ALL for shits and giggles on October 12. The'yre playing the Riot Fest in Chicago. It's gonna be huge fun! So I think everybody should come! Okay? Cool. Here's the official announcement.
Hope to see you there:
ALL REUNITES FOR RIOT FEST 2008
Riot Fest has confirmed that legendary punk band ALL will be reuniting for Riot Fest 2008, Oct. 10-12 in Chicago, Illinois. The band will be reuniting with the Allroy's Revenge, Allroy Saves, Perculator and Trailblazer lineup, which includes Scott Reynolds (vocals), Bill Stevenson (drums), Karl Alvarez (bass) and Stephen Egerton (guitar). This ALL lineup has not performed together in 15-years.
"Stephen is going to jump a motorcycle over 10 flaming school buses, then save all the children inside them before they burn up! Bill is going to levitate, then disappear, then reappear on Karl's shoulders who will be riding a unicycle on a tightrope made from dental floss suspended 100 ft. above the stage. And I'm going to give one lucky audience member a makeover that will take 10 years off his/her appearance! So we better start practicing!! Everybody should come because it's going to rock sooo hard," said Reynolds of the band's reunion.
Riot Fest is planning on many other additional surprises and reunions in the upcoming months, but wanted the ALL/Descendents fans to know about the reunion in advance so they can make the proper arrangements to see this one-off reunion.
Because of this, tickets for ALL's Riot Fest 2008 mainstage performance (Oct. 12 at the Congress Theatre) will go on sale Thursday, April 24 at 8 a.m. CST on www. indietickets. com for the weekend or until these limited tickets sell out.
This is my first post to this community...to ANY LJ community, actually, so hopefully I'm doing it right.
Howdy. I'm Natalie, married to Stephen (the cute bald guitar player that we all know and love). We've got two kids, Sophie and Felix. Felix's newborn photo is my avatar. A fan of the band Photoshopped the guitar into his hand, and it's one of my favorite things ever.
I work. I'm also in school and will graduate with my Master's in May. Erm, I don't know why I'm introducing myself, but if feels weird to barge in without one. Did you guys introduce yourselves, or am I making an asshole out of myself? If you didn't, you SHOULD, and then I'll feel like less of a dork.
Favorite Descendents' song? Today it's probably "Thank You", but it rotates constantly.
I was watching I love the 70's volume two today. I don't remember what year it was, or what they were talking about but I heard "suburban home" playing and I looked up and said, "well son of a bitch." and then the song stopped and I continued to do wahtever I was doing on the computer.
so does anyone know if the song "thank you" was written about a certain band? and if so, any theories as to which band could rock so much that the descendents would write a song about them? or is it just a rad song? i'm interested in finding out...
has anyone seen the boostmobile commercial with Travis Barker? The only thing that was rad about it was the Descendents in the background... I'm still debating if that was actually them playing, or if it was some actors they just hired, since I can not focus long enough to tell if it is or not.
and on a side note... Travis Barker... ewwwwwwwwwwwww......
